Meet Linda Heuring

    Linda Heuring is a prize-winning author of fiction and non-fiction, primarily character-driven short stories.

    She was awarded the Fish International Short Story Prize (judge David Mitchell), the Rash Award in Fiction (judge Alan Michael Parker), was shortlisted for the Bridport Prize (UK) and placed in the Elizabeth Simpson Smith Short Story Prize (judge Daniel Handler). Her short stories have been nominated for the Best of the Web and the Pushcart Prize.

    Her debut short story collection, A Woman Walked into the Bar, was published by All Nations Press in 2017.

    She earned a BA in English composition from DePauw University and has worked as a journalist and newspaper editor and held global positions in corporate communications/marketing.  She lives outside Chicago with her husband, David Whatley.
